Training Overview
This training is a bespoke session for museum professionals. It has been adapted by Volunteer Now from their 3R training programme to meet the needs of museums and their volunteers.
According to a recent report, volunteering in Northern Ireland has dropped from 28% to 17% following the pandemic*. This session will give an overview of volunteering trends at the moment and look at the implications for recruitment and retention of volunteers. It will also look at how the digital environment is impacting on volunteering. It will help participants to update their volunteer management processes in light of the current trends.
By the end of the course individuals will;
- Understand volunteer trends.
- Understand recruitment and retention and the outside factors that may influence them.
- Understand the influence of the digital environment on volunteering.
- Be equipped to update their procedures and practices.
Who is the session suitable for?
Staff and volunteers who work with or and/or a responsibility for volunteer management. This training session is suitable for those thinking about involving volunteers, at the beginning of their journey or those with an established volunteer programme who may want a refresher in light of recent changes to the volunteer landscape.
Trainer
Volunteer Now is the lead organisation for promoting and supporting volunteering across Northern Ireland. They build recognition for volunteering and celebrate the contribution volunteers make. They provide access to opportunities and encourage people to volunteer. They are a resource for volunteer involving organisations providing support on involving volunteers, governance and safeguarding.
How to Book & Refund Policy
Bookings can be made via Eventbrite. If this is not possible, please contact the NI Museums Council at catherine.doran@nimc.co.uk to request a booking form and provide a Purchase Order number .
NI Museums Council does not offer refunds on cancellations made within two weeks week of the course date, however the place can be transferred to another person within your organization or who is also a member.
Eventbrite cancellations made over two weeks before the event will be refunded minus the Eventbrite booking fee. Please note that costs are inclusive of the Eventbrite booking fee. By default, Eventbrite do not provide refunds on fees. This means that the attendee will receive a refund for the amount they paid minus the Eventbrite fees.
Cancellations two weeks before the event on bookings made via NIMC Booking form will be refunded minus a 10% admin fee.
