LGBTQ+ History tour of Hillsborough Castle
In Person EventJoin us for an NIMC members study trip to hear about the history and development of the Hillsborough Castle LGBTQ+ Tour
Join Interpretation and Research Producer, Emma Lawthers, for an insight into the background of the LGBTQ+ History tour of Hillsborough Castle, which was created by Kris Reid. We will start by looking at the research behind the tour, the challenges of the tour format and the resulting content of the tour. We will also discuss the new strategy of Historic Royal Palaces to be a charity for everyone and look at how sharing diverse and inclusive histories is an important part of this.
Afterwards, Palace Host, James McCabe, will lead us on the LGBTQ+ History tour through the State Apartments of Hillsborough Castle.
Following the study trip activities, attendees are welcome to explore the grounds or visit the temporary exhibition Royal Style in the Making | Hillsborough Castle | Historic Royal Palaces
