LET’S TALK – Early Years & Museums
Online WebinarJoin us online for another LET’S TALK session. This time we will be covering the topic of building links with early years children, their parents and carers.
How does your museum engage with early years children, their parents and carers? How does your interpretation and layout meet the needs of the youngest members of our communities?
If you are considering how your museum works for early years audiences, or are planning to take part in the NI Museums Council 2026 Playful Museums Festival, please join us online.

The Museum of Old Things is a simple way to make a role-play museum in your classroom setting.
A role play museum is a great way for children to develop skills in communication and language, and to gain insights into understanding more about the world around them. It supports knowledge development around the past and the present. This process offers open ended learning as well as play opportunities through a whole variety of EYFS themes linked to any Early Learning Goals.
