Museums Forum and AGM 2024
ConferenceJoin NI Museums Council for an afternoon exploring what is happening in the NI museum sector and how we can shape the new NI Museums Policy.
We are delighted to invite you to the Northern Ireland Museums Council (NIMC) Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Museums Forum, which will focus on the developing Museums Policy.
The Museums Forum will be a unique opportunity to engage directly with representatives from the Department for Communities Policy team. This event is designed to explore insights from the NI museums sector, present best practice case studies, and inform the development of the new Museums Policy through your valuable experience and expertise.
Call for Presentations
Aligned with the goals of the Forum, we are seeking presentations from our members that highlight case studies corresponding to each of the NIMC Corporate Goals:
- Museums are connected to their communities and cultivate a shared sense of place.
- Museums enrich people’s lives and create opportunities for enjoyment, learning, and fulfilment.
- Museums drive transformation to make us more sustainable, inclusive, and innovative.
- Museums contribute to economic and social recovery.
- Museums develop, protect, and promote their collections and collections knowledge for the benefit of their audiences.
We encourage presentations that explain the projects and their impacts, framing the opportunities and barriers to delivering public benefits through our local museums. Your contributions will be instrumental in shaping a policy that reflects the needs and aspirations of our sector. Although we welcome case studies arising from NIMC projects and programmes, your contributions should not be limited to those with a direct link to NIMC.
Why Attend?
- Engage with Policy Makers: Direct interaction with the Department for Communities Policy team.
- Share Best Practices: Present and learn from case studies that demonstrate innovative and impactful museum practices.
