Let’s Talk – Student Placements
Online WebinarJoin our next ‘Let’s Talk’ event and learn how you can connect with Universities and offer placements for students at your museum.
Let’s Talk – Student Placements will hear from Queens University Belfast, Ulster University and Stranmillis University College about the placements schemes they run and how the museums of Northern Ireland can get involved.
Each year students undertake placements as part of their courses and focus on areas such as history, teaching, research, collections care and curatorial practices amongst others. Students are matched with an organisation based on their interest, location and skills and museums can list any upcoming projects or events that may benefit from having students involvement.
The placements scheme offers invaluable experience to the students and an opportunity to network and gain confidence in the workplace. The museums benefit from a fresh perspective and gain an insight into the topics being studied by the emerging professionals.
This Let’s Talk will give an overview of how the placements scheme works, the timeframes and how you can get involved.
