Community and Crown: The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Exhibition

Tuesday-Saturday, 11am-4pm Coleraine Museum Runs until 27 August 2022

Coleraine Museum has a new exhibition on display in Coleraine Town Hall to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Visitors can read about the Coronation of the Queen in 1953 and her Coronation Tour by train to Coleraine, Ballymoney and Downhill of the same year. Explore her visits made to the borough in later years as well as the Queen's historic visit to Dublin in 2011. View historical photographs and artefacts of the Coronation, Silver and Golden Jubilees, until her most recent visit in 2016. On display are replica Crown Jewels made of straw, kindly on loan to the museum - a must see! Listen to oral histories from residents across the borough, recalling their past encounters with the Queen. Watch a video made about the Queen's visit in 1953 featuring children from Eglinton and Ballymoney nurseries and residents of Cramsie Court in Ballymoney. A dedicated kid's area will also keep the little ones entertained with dress up, colouring in and more!
