Digital Doorways - the state of digital in the NI museums sector

Knowing how to best support the local museum sector in Northern Ireland within the digital sphere requires a full understanding of the current state of digital activities.

08 March 2021

The NI Museums Council is delighted to announce that it is working with the Centre for Data Digitisation and Analysis (CDDA), Queen’s University, Belfast, to produce a report on the current state of digital in local museums.  This report will explore four key areas for each participating museum:

·       Digital Infrastructure

·       Digital Museum Site

·       Digital Collections

·       Digital Skills & Knowledge

Local museums across Northern Ireland will be contacted shortly and asked to participate in a survey that will enable a clearer understanding of the current digital landscape.  This evidence-based report will be used to leverage funding to support future digital activities by local museums.
