Would you like to link up with a museum professional from across the border and enhance your online engagement skills?
19 August 2020
The Irish Museums Association, in partnership with the NI Museums Council, has been awarded funding through the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht’s Cooperation with NI scheme and are calling for expressions of interest to take part in Interpreting Museums.
Interpreting Museums is a multi-faceted project that aims to encourage stronger working relationships on a cross-border basis, enhance professional skills, and develop a fuller public understanding of museum practice.
Selected participants will be matched with a relevant partner on a cross-border basis and encouraged to explore each other’s practice through virtual-shadowing, supported by group sessions, with the aim of knowledge-sharing, finding areas of common interest and potential collaboration. You will be provided with online training on enhancing your online skills, creating content and public engagement, and given the opportunity to put your learning into practice by co-creating a low-tech online presentation of your practice. These can range from a playful 3-min vlog to an in-depth delve into your work – the goal is that they be fun to both produce and watch, while giving ‘behind the scenes’ insight into your work.
If you or any of your colleagues would like to take part, see the eligibility criteria and the expression of interest form below.
Expressions of interest must be submitted by completing the form and returning it to office@irishmuseums.org by midnight on Monday, 31 August 2020.
We hope that you will be interested in availing of this opportunity and look forward to hearing from you.
