Led by Illustrator, Elly Makes, an exciting new programme for 16-25 year olds across Northern Ireland launches in association with recently founded Belfast- based initiative She Sells Sanctuary.
She Sells Sanctuary, a project set up as a response to the recent rise in reported domestic abuse cases in Northern Ireland, is an online shop to which artists and designers donate artworks, will all proceeds going towards Women's AidNI.
Using the recent 'Women in Culture' publication (NIMC, March 2020) as inspiration, young people on this course will learn about inspiring women featured in the collections of local museums and each create a set of designs specifically for the She Sells Sanctuary cause.
Sessions include contributions from project partners Fermanagh County Museum, Mid Antrim Museum, Newry and Mourne Museum, Ballymoney Museum, North Down Museum and Tower Museum, Derry/Londonderry.
