During #MuseumWeek we raised the profile of museums through coordinating a social media campaign. Since January our annual Training programme has delivered eight training sessions and two Museum Forums to 200 museum staff and volunteers through which we are building capacity and enhancing the resilience of the sector. The Museums Council has recently been successful in securing £15,000 from Esme Mitchell Trust to enable local museums to develop their collections over the next three years. We also awarded 11 Collections Care and Access grants, 7 Playful Museums grants, and 6 Dementia Friendly grants. We look forward to advocating for and supporting the development of local museums in Northern Ireland in 2020. Happy New Year.
