Presented as a family home, No. 3 Victoria Street contains many Milford House family possessions, including documents and costumes, items from the Manor House School and fine collections of Georgian, Regency and Victorian furniture from Somerset House London.

Milford House was the most technologically advanced house in 19th century Ireland, and the first in Ireland to be lit with hydro-electricity. The creation of Robert Garmany McCrum, self made industrialist, benefactor and inventor who revolutionised the linen industry. His son William invented the penalty kick rule in football, and his daughter Harriette was a founding member of the women’s suffragette movement in Ireland.

The museum provides guided tours that will reveal the fascinating world of the McCrum family.
