Key Stage Four Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum

Using the Flax to Fabric Exhibition students look at the world of work, past and present. Participants complete group work on roles within the linen industry and career opportunities now. Museum staff share their work experiences and there is also a session on how to make a job application and how to sell yourself to employers. Education staff liaise with teachers to develop a half day or full day session to suit the needs of the students.

The NI Curriculum areas of learning are: Language and literacy, The arts, The world around us, Personal development and mutual understanding, Science and technology & Maths and numeracy.

The Skills and Communications used include: Cross curricular skills, Thinking skills and personal capabilities, Communication & Maths.
