Key Stage Two Carrickfergus Museum
In this session pupils are taken on an emotional journey to discover the thoughts feelings and emotions of Second World War evacuees'. Pupils handle genuine World War II artefacts and partake in rationing activities to decide how clothing coupons would be spent. Pupils will gain knowledge of life during the Second World War in Northern Ireland through interaction, worksheets, role play and hands on activities. Class size is restricted to 35 and the session lasts 2hrs.
The NI curriculum areas of learning are: The World around us, Mathematics & Numeracy, and Language & Literacy.
The Skills and communication used include: Thinking skills and personal capabilities, managing information, communication, reading and writing, and team work.
