The Lough Neagh Discovery Centre, Oxford Island houses a local history reference library which has a collection of books, journals, maps and photographs relating to the local area. The library also holds a collection of books from the Ulster Quarterly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends and a collection relating to Methodist history in Ireland.

The Enterprize Barge is a restored sand dredger which is located outside Waterside House. The barge is around 100 years old and was built and used locally. The barge contains an exhibition relating to the history and heritage of the local waterways. 

Throughout the year there are a number of temporary exhibitions, events, talks and tours at other venues throughout the Borough. These events are based on the museum’s local, social and industrial history collections.

The museum also provides a reminiscence loan box service with themed boxes available ranging from the 1940s to the 1980s, school and childhood, home and leisure and In style.
